New EU Food System Monitoring Framework Report
The Joint Research Centre (JRC) of the European Commission has launched the first EU Food System Monitoring Framework, a crucial tool for tracking progress towards a fair, healthy, and environmentally sustainable food system.
Key Highlights:
✔ More than 350 indicators assessed to measure food system sustainability
✔ Covers environmental, economic, and social dimensions, including food safety and nutrition
✔ Provides a data-driven dashboard to support policymakers and stakeholders in shaping future strategies
This framework will help monitor the cumulative impact of food-related policies on competitiveness, the environment, and public health. By filling data gaps and continuously evolving, it aims to ensure evidence-based policymaking and align with the European Green Deal and Farm to Fork Strategy.
