Harmonizing Safety: A Workshop on Risk Assessment and Management for Food Contact Materials

In 2023, the ILSI Europe Packaging Materials Task Force decided to determine if there is a need for a document comparing risk assessment and risk management (RA/RM) approaches and to determine if there are possible routes for harmonization of different approaches so that everyone (authorities and industry etc.) will use the same or similar methodology regarding the assessment of the safety of FCMs.

The objective is to assess the possibility of publishing guidelines for harmonised risk assessment and management and whether this is achievable, however desirable.
