World Food Safety Day 2025

This year’s World Food Safety Day theme has been officially announced: “Food safety: science in action.” This theme highlights the crucial role of science in ensuring the accuracy and reliability of food safety guidance used by governments, businesses, and consumers worldwide.

To mark the occasion, the Platform has launched a multi-stakeholder dialogue from 2 to 7 June 2025, featuring a rich programme of contributions from its members across Europe.
After participating to the call for contributions to be showcased during the the week 2 – 7 June 2025,  – in line with the World Food Safety Day 2025 theme: “Food safety – science in action“, the selected members proposed topics that could be further exploited and discussed in the upcoming EU FOOD SAFETY FORUM 2025. They proposed different formats to facilitate any interaction/multi-actor discussion/working groups, and to share key messages with stakeholders and actors of the EU Food Safety Systems.
Activities include:

• Infographics and digital materials highlighting EU-wide tools, risk assessment, Bayesian statistics, and mycotoxins.
  
  Presentations on training, communication frameworks, and relevant food safety issues.

Day by day, starting on June 2, we’re going to share the valuable resources provided by our members, available here and in our Knowledge Center!

Each contribution aligns with the official World Food Safety Day key messages, reinforcing, among others, that Science is fundamental to food safety, There is no science without data, Everyone is a risk manager, and Education is key.
