Plant protection products: regulation, risk assessment and communication

17th GRIFA Summer School

A specialized training programme focused on the fast-evolving landscape of Plant Protection Products is open for registration. The initiative is announced by Italian Group of Research on Pesticides and the Environment (GRIFA) as the 17th Summer School “Plant protection products: regulation, risk assessment and communication” from October 1 to 4, 2026 at Eos Village – Costa Rei, Muravera, Sardegna, IT.

It offers an intensive, deep-dive curriculum designed to help industry professionals navigate the latest regulatory and scientific developments reshaping crop protection and food safety.

The programme explores regulatory and scientific developments on co-formulants, biocides, inorganic compounds, risk management, risk assessment and communication in food safety. This will be complemented by advanced instruction in dossier development and evaluation, fostering a high level of professional expertise and analytical proficiency.

A cornerstone of the event is a the overview of the MedFoodNet —the Research-to-practice network dedicated to enhancing food safety communication across the Mediterranean Region. This high-profile network is coordinated by Italy’s Istituto Zooprofilattico Sperimentale delle Venezie (IZSVe) and backed by funding from the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA). The EU FOOD SAFETY PLATFORM supports the MedFoodNet project, which will be presented also in the EU FOOD SAFETY FORUM 2026 in Rome, on Dec 11 2026.
