FHERITALE

The increasing release of micro- and nano–scale particles resulting from human activities is a growing concern, primarily due to their unique physicochemical properties and persistence in the environment.
Despite growing awareness, the European research landscape remains fragmented. The overarching goal of FHERITALE is to lay the groundwork for providing the European scientific community with easily accessible services through a single entry point, enabling researchers to study and analyse the impact of artificial materials at the micro- and nanoscale on health, food and the environment.
The EU Food Safety Platform is supporting the project by sharing within its multi-actor network the FHERITALE initiatives, like surveys (2025) and opportunities for cooperation.
In line with the EU FOOD SAFETY PLATFORM networking approach, FHERITALE participated in the EU FOOD SAFETY FORUM 2025 to share its objectives and actions, looking for cooperation and synergies.
Collaborative Actions under the CNR Terms of Reference (ToR)

To initiate and strengthen collaboration, in 2026, the EU FOOD SAFETY PLATFORM and FHERITALE formalized cooperation with the signing of a Terms of Reference (ToR). This agreement sets the basis for structuring joint initiatives and actions to boost synergies in the framework of the EU food systems.
The first initiatives under the TOR is the participation of the EU FOOD SAFETY PLATFORM Coordinator on 26 May 2026 in the FHERITALE stakeholders meeting.
