Vision for Agriculture and Food – Shaping together an attractive farming and agri-food sector for future generations

The European Commission has unveiled its Vision for Agriculture and Food, a strategic roadmap shaping the future of farming and food systems in Europe, and aiming to secure the long-term competitiveness, sustainability, and resilience of the EU agri-food sector. This strategic vision will play a crucial role in shaping EU food policies, reinforcing the One Health approach, and fostering science-based decision-making for the future of food safety.
Key Focus Areas include:
🔹 Fair and Sustainable Food Systems: Updated Rural Action Plan, annual Food Dialogue, and measures to reduce food waste.
🔹 Link to the New EU Bioeconomy Strategy: Unlocking opportunities in circularity, bioeconomy, and carbon farming to enhance sustainability and reduce critical dependencies.
🔹 Strengthening Research & Innovation: Accelerating the uptake of knowledge and innovations, ensuring on-farm and on-site applicability of novel solutions.
