Call for Cases “From Science to Practice in Food and Health”.
The JPI HDHL Food4Health, initiative connecting research, policy and practice at the intersection of food, health and sustainability, has launched a Call for Cases “From Science to Practice in Food and Health”. This call seeks real-world examples where scientific knowledge – co-created, mobilised or tested in practice – has contributed to concrete changes in the food system, including decisions, behaviours or structural transformations.
Through a short online survey (approximately 25 min.), stakeholders can submit cases from their own work, their organisations or other initiatives that demonstrate impactful uptake of Research and Innovation (R&I) solutions in the food–health nexus. Eligible examples may stem from EU-funded or non-EU-funded projects, as long as they sit at the food–health interface and show how science was used in a tangible way. HDHL Food4Health is particularly interested in cases that illustrate: science democratisation (e.g. campaigns, pilots, citizen-facing tools, societal uptake of knowledge), policy uptake (e.g. evidence informing strategies or regulations), and new multi-actor processes (e.g. mirror groups, consultative groups, stakeholder dialogues).
The collected cases will support the development of a Europe-wide Compendium of Good Practices to guide EU and national R&I priority setting, inform how future calls frame impact and implementation pathways, and give visibility to exemplary initiatives in a FAIR repository.
The EU FOOD SAFETY PLATFORM members and other stakeholders are invited to share their experiences, thus helping accelerate societal uptake of research results, strengthening trust in science and contributing to healthier, more sustainable food systems across Europe. We warmly encouraged to disseminate this opportunity within your networks!
Deadline for submission of cases is 5 April 2026. Survey available here
